Descripción del Producto

Fluorine lined elbows, also known as steel lined fluoroplastic elbows, are critical pipe fittings used in corrosive and high-purity piping systems. They are widely applied in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, and electroplating industries to change flow direction while safely handling acids, alkalis, salts, organic solvents, and other aggressive media.

By combining a carbon steel or stainless steel outer shell with an inner fluoroplastic lining (PTFE, PFA, or FEP), fluorine lined elbows provide both excellent mechanical strength and outstanding chemical resistance. This composite structure ensures long-term, leak-free operation even under harsh working conditions where conventional metal elbows fail.

Resistencia excepcional a la corrosión

The inner lining is made of premium-grade PTFE, PFA, or FEP fluoroplastics, which are virtually immune to chemical attack. These materials can withstand almost all strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and mixed corrosive media, including concentrated sulfuric acid, aqua regia, and hydrofluoric acid.

This superior corrosion resistance eliminates common issues such as wall thinning, perforation, and leakage that occur with carbon steel or stainless steel elbows in aggressive environments.

High Mechanical Strength and Structural Stability

The outer shell of the lined elbow is manufactured from standard-grade carbon steel (such as WPB/Q235) or stainless steel (304 / 316 / 316L), providing excellent pressure-bearing capacity and mechanical rigidity.

Advanced lining technologies ensure tight bonding between the metal shell and fluoroplastic liner, allowing the elbow to withstand pressure fluctuations, thermal cycling, and even a certain degree of vacuum without delamination or deformation.

Smooth Inner Surface and Stable Flow

The fluoroplastic lining features an ultra-smooth, non-stick inner surface with an extremely low friction coefficient. This design minimizes flow resistance, prevents scaling and material buildup, and ensures stable, efficient fluid transfer.

Such properties are especially valuable for high-purity fluids and media prone to crystallization or deposition, maintaining consistent flow rates and reducing maintenance frequency.

Long Service Life and Lower Total Cost

Thanks to the outstanding chemical inertness and aging resistance of fluoroplastics, fluorine lined elbows offer a service life several times longer than conventional pipe fittings. This significantly reduces downtime, replacement frequency, and maintenance costs.

Although the initial purchase cost may be higher, the total lifecycle cost is substantially lower, delivering excellent long-term economic benefits and a high return on investment (ROI).

Typical Applications

  • Chemical & Petrochemical Industry: Acid, alkali, salt pipelines; reactor inlets and outlets; scrubber systems

  • Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology: High-purity water systems, CIP/SIP lines, corrosive API process piping

  • Galvanoplastia y tratamiento de superficies: Acidic and alkaline electrolytes, chemical plating circulation systems

  • Hydrometallurgy & Mining: Acid leaching, extraction, and electrolysis pipelines

  • Fine Chemicals & Agrochemicals: Chlorination, sulfonation, nitration process piping

  • Semiconductor & Electronic Chemicals: Ultra-high purity chemical delivery systems

Advanced Lining Technology and Customization

Fluorine-lined elbows are manufactured using mature processes such as molding, push-forming, and winding sintering, ensuring uniform lining thickness, no bubbles, no pinholes, and excellent adhesion to the metal shell.

Standard elbow angles (90°, 45°, 180°) are available in accordance with ANSI, DIN, and JIS standards. Non-standard diameters, special angles, pressure classes, and connection types (flanged or threaded) can be customized to meet specific project requirements.

Each product undergoes strict quality control, including material inspection, spark testing of the lining, and pressure testing, guaranteeing reliable and safe performance.
